I joined McCain Now but haven't spent much time there, Citizens For McCain...yes..Left my comment at 18 Mil Strong..I don't even know if I have joined all the PUMA groups...I doubt it because there are more and more of them everyday...Just Say No Deal... yes... The same sort of organized attack happened to my video on YouTube, as it was critical of Obama and his cult-like die-hards. Enough people marked the video “Offensive” so it no longer can be viewed without logging into a YouTube account. This video wouldn’t be rated more than PG by any rational viewer — yet an organized effort by people wanting to censor me was able to limit views on the video (and Google will not respond to my request to remove the restriction).

I see that Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius has joined Barack Obama in warning Americans to watch out for the GOP playing the race card this fall. Heck, the Democrats are already doing that, to a degree.

As if people didn't know Obama is black, Sebelius and others are saying that Republicans would "try and frighten people about him" because of his race.

The Democrats are throwing out what they consider to be code words that might be used by people who don't want a black president.

Sebelius offered up "he’s not qualified" and "he's too liberal" as potential code words.

Obama said he might be called "inexperienced" and "young."

Say what?

A lot of Democrats didn't think Obama was well-qualified to be president. That's part of the reason why millions voted for Hillary Clinton in the primaries.

Face it: There are plenty of racist Americans who won't vote for Obama because he's black. We all know that.

But let's not allow Obama, Sebelius and others to chill the discussion -- by the GOP or Americans of all parties -- about Obama's actual qualifications for the presidency.

I agree...do not allow Obama, Sebelius and others to chill the discussion....it is called freedom of speech...we still have that in America...

Well there is another pastor who has some things to say about Obama...he comes out of Florida and he is in a bit of trouble now with the IRS. His name is Bill Keller....IRS investigating local televangelist...Here is his web page...From what I can see he gets in trouble off and on....shows Obama attracts all kinds I guess...Keller is quoted saying..."He has aggressively marketed himself to the public as a Christian,'' Keller said during a telephone interview Tuesday. "The problem is in his public statements, he has stated numerous things that are totally inconsistent with the Christian faith.'' ...If you look on his page he has under Obama's picture.."God's Enemy" if you click it a video plays...Barack Obama is NOT a Christian, he is an ENEMY of God ...8min.18sec long if you have the time....I know nothing about Keller and that is the only video of his I watched....He does not sound like a nutcase....he has some questions for Obama...

There is so much going on I don't know where to start today. I have been catching up on my reading all morning so maybe it is just me and no more is going on that usual....

I will start with voting for the most qualified candidate....I see that person to be John McCain. He has served this country in many ways and I can't ...well I just can't see how Obama has ever done anything for this country.....The buzz has been about democrats voting for McCain....well now it is turning to republicans voting for Obama....Who you ask....dare I say....black republicans....yes that is what I have been hearing and reading....Recently a radio talk show host.. Armstrong William..a republican said he was considering voting for Obama....Does he like Obama's policies or what he advocates? No...So I guess we can say he is voting skin color?...is it racist?...Why would a republican vote for the least qualified candidate?...Then you have Colin Powell who said he will not necessarily vote for the Republican. Is this going to be the trend? Who knows but it is starting to look that way to me.....We all know Obama won certain states with a high number of AA voters....90+% of the AA vote went to Obama and we are not supposed to consider that as raciest....but if you are white and are voting for McCain you are called raciest....Why is that?....I agree with Tara Wall...she is quoted as saying..."You can’t be black in America and not be proud of Barack Obama,"....."But as black conservatives, let’s not throw everything we believe in out the window because he’s a black candidate."....I do understand why he is getting the AA vote but what has he done to earn that vote? Someone needs to tell me because I can't find it?...Has he given a lot of money to black causes? What has he done?... I don't know, I can't find it....In his fathers day speech he spoke about the black fathers absence and he is not the first black man to do so but what Obama was doing in that speech was reaching out to white voters not black voters.... Did it work?....All the press praised him for his words...I wonder how the AA community felt?....How do they feel about Obama using them to reach out to white voters?.......Why did he put down black men to gain white favor? Just being a politician?....What if McCain did that?....How would you feel?....Speaking for myself....it would bother me....I would really like to know how the black community feels about Obama and his speech....If you know of a site or a person who wrote about this let me know in the comments please...We are all American's and the color of a person's skin should not be an issue in this election...it should not be an issue in America.....We are voting for a president...a person who will be making very important decisions that will effect not only our lives but future generations....I will be voting for the person I feel is most qualified...McCain....

Moving on....McCain/Obama and the Jewish vote...Are the democrats using Joe just to keep a Democratic majority in the Senate?....looks like it to me...but I don't trust the dem party much anymore after what they did giving Obama Clinton's delegates. That was just unacceptable....I am proud of Joe for standing his ground... I have read a couple pieces today about the Jewish vote...

Jewish Lawmakers Hit the Hustings for Obama....Does Obama have a Jewish problem?....I Goggled it and some have been talking about it for a few months now.....If he doesn't, why is his campaign working so hard on that group of voters?.... I think some of Obama friends and some of the positions he has spoke on in the past have hurt him in this group of voters..

In the good ole days, when liberals were actually “liberal,” focused upon individual liberty above all else, and Democrats were actually “democratic” instead of dictatorial elitists focused more on not counting votes than on letting every voice be heard, the words “democratic change” had a very different meaning.

The concept of democracy has since been hijacked. In the 2008 race for the White House, the Democrat candidate with the most popular support is Hillary Clinton. But somehow, the DNC nominee is Barack Hussein Obama. Not so long ago, this could not have been defined as democracy in action. It would have been rightfully referred to as the “hijacking” of a party nomination.

Democracy used to suggest a limited government representing the common interests of the people, who were otherwise free to pursue individual interests without government interference.

I have no opinion on Larry....that is something I have not cared to discuss here on this blog or anyplace else....But....What Mr. Jones writes about is our Freedom and democracy.... What are those women trying to do with their checklist?....Are they trying to tell us who to vote for?...Is it not our right to vote for the person we wish?....about the checklist....Female senators make push for women voters....I say again...I am voting for John McCain because I trust him....I trust him to protect this country and my family...I am not voting about sexism...I am voting for a president....

I have been thinking about turning off the phone so I won't be interrupted half way through reading a piece....I am sure you all have been reading about John McCain and what he said about energy security. If you want the story about what he said without the spin you can get what he actually said at McCain's web site here. Then there is President Bush calling on congress to lift the ban on drilling for oil in US coastal waters. This will be spun so much it is going to make us dizzy. I don't know about you all but I am tired of having to read five or six pieces on the same subject just to get a balanced point of view. Is there no one in the media who just tells it like it is with out blaming a democrat or a republican....I know freedom of speech...everyone can express their opinion....even me...Goggle is my best friend these days...

Now that being said, I have heard someone is trying to stop Rush Limbaugh from being on the air?...ooops!...Did we lose our freedom of speech and no one told me? I am no Rush fan but how can this be happening in America.... It is called "The Fairness Doctrine" It is not just Rush they are going after, it is all talk radio from what I have heard...What are they afraid of? That the truth might be told? I am just learning about this so I don't have a lot of information on it....I do believe from what I have read that it was Mark Fowler who worked on President Reagen's campaign staff who started working on having it repealed in 1985 and it was not until 1987 that the FCC abolished the doctrine. He said then that the doctrine hurt the public interest and violated the first amendment....The Fairness Doctrine is an attempt to ensure that all coverage of controversial issues by a broadcast station be balanced and fair. The FCC took the view, in 1949, that station licensees were "public trustees," and as such had an obligation to afford reasonable opportunity for discussion of contrasting points of view on controversial issues of public importance. The Commission later held that stations were also obligated to actively seek out issues of importance to their community and air programming that addressed those issues. With the deregulation sweep of the Reagan Administration during the 1980s, the Commission dissolved the fairness doctrine.

This doctrine grew out of concern that because of the large number of applications for radio station being submitted and the limited number of frequencies available, broadcasters should make sure they did not use their stations simply as advocates with a singular perspective. Rather, they must allow all points of view. That requirement was to be enforced by FCC mandate.more

Now, who is trying to stop the people on the radio? Dennis Kucinich started working on it back in 2007. Is it because the democrats aren't as successful on talk radio ? That is what it looks like to me. Hey, if there aren't any dems out there who have what it takes don't take it out on the successful republicans who do. Or is there more to it?... It is about manipulating opinion polls...here in America you say...not possible you say...well stop kidding yourself...We have been watching it happen for the last few months. The piece I am talking about is...Could unbiased election opinion polls prove electoral fraud?...I think this is important to read because if they can sway the voters with the polls...polls that really don't reflect what the voters believe, stand for or are really saying...then they can sway the election. I have wrote about polls in the past here on this blog, hoping you would check the who, what, when, where and why of them, and it seems that Michel Tremblay may have a real problem with George W. Bush, (as most people do), if you read some of his other writings...I haven't read them yet but...He seems to have done some checking around to back up his claims for this piece...Read it and judge for your self....

I am also a lifelong Republican. I've said here many times that all my friends are Dems. Well, they are...but that's no longer exactly the whole truth. The truth is that I have made many friends here, some of whom are fellow Republicans. The people who come in droves in support of Sen. McCain cross all party lines. Wherever they came from originally, they are gathered here together in support of the importance of our American right to choose our leaders by participating in elections. We know how important that vote is. For the sake of all Americans, not just some single-minded drive to defeat the other guy, whatever the cost. It's no longer good enough to just blame everything that's wrong on the Dems or the Reps. We The People are responsible for our government, not the other way around. Sen. McCain has spent his entire life protecting and defending our right to do just that. And here he is again, asking for our support so that he may serve us yet again. We all know there are things wrong with this country at the moment. I've noticed that those who support BO are bent on forcing us to believe their message that Sen. McCain represents "4 more years of Bush". Pretty flimsy in my opinion. However, it is a message we must work diligently together to discredit. Sen. McCain does not represent 4 more years of Bush. That is an example of the BO campaign trying to use the known tactic of "people will believe any lie if it is said often enough." We all know where that came from and what type of leaders come into power by that method. By contrast, Sen. McCain is appealing to all Americans to use our own better judgment and realize that he plans to include all of us in his Presidency. Not only has he repeated that message for our benefit, but his entire public record demonstrates that fact...and the fact that he embraces the flexibility of growth and change in response to the better judgment of all Americans, regardless who gets the credit. Sen. McCain truly does represent Leadership We Can Believe In! I'm so glad to see such a diverse group of supporters here and everywhere I go! McCain '08!

I am even more certain of my vote for Sen. McCain in the fall! I am reminded of a phrase I learned from my husband once when he was sharing with me some of his experiences in the military. The phrase is, "Hope is not a method". My husband and I were discussing drug use at the time and he shared with me some of the difficult situations he'd encountered while he was Battalion Commander. I won't repeat any of them here, but it was a part of his leadership that was extremely challenging for him. He was a highly respected Commander who inspired much dedication and individual and collective greatness from his troops. I've met some of them, and am absolutely in awe of the way their friendship with one another is based on the most profound mutual respect and admiration. I do not think these qualities are unique to military personnel. Nor do I believe military experience is necessarily a requirement to be a great President. However, I believe nearly everyone recognizes that we live in a dangerous world. It's very difficult for someone like me to comprehend the complexity of decision-making abilities required from our President. I imagine that one of the first things the President (and every world leader, for that matter) must know from the moment they wake up is, what's the oil situation. Our entire economy, as well as most economies of Western Civilization, is nearly entirely based on oil. Our security is based on oil. Even though I drive a Prius, I can't go anywhere unless I have gas in the tank. In the event of a disaster, I must have it to evacuate. Food is transported throughout the country and globe by fossil fuel. All the goods we purchase are transported by fossil fuel. Police respond by power of fossil fuel. So do ambulances. Schools and hospitals and homes and corporations are powered mostly by fossil fuels. Even our "money", which is mostly credit and debit cards these days, is made of plastics derived from fossil fuels. Hell, we even eat it! Most pills that the general public ingest are coated in shells made from fossil fuels. The US supplied nearly 80% of the oil used by the Allies in WWII. Our supplies peaked in the 70's and have continued to decline. Our method since has been to hoard what's left of our own oil and use everyone else's with gluttony and disregard for anyone but ourselves. 15 of the 19 9-11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. Clearly, we are addicted. I believe that the phrase "Hope is not a method" applies very accurately here. Sen. McCain does represent leadership we can actually believe in. I may not agree down to the last little detail of minutia with every one of his positions, but I agree with the vast majority of them, and most of all I trust him with the complexities of leadership I can't even begin to comprehend. We have no way of knowing what lies ahead, but we can use our common sense to observe the differences between Sen. McCain and ...well, everyone still on the table. No, Hope is not a method. Leadership is. Thank you Sen. McCain for demonstrating so clearly what that is.

I guess you can see I have put up links to the left for the places that are flooding. I put up a link for the Red Cross over the weekend because they are in need of money to help all of these people who have lost everything. There is also a link to FEMA. Why FEMA you ask....because the phone lines are tied up and you can get help online. FEMA's registration call centers have expanded operations to 24 hours-per-day, seven days a week. The number to call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Maybe you don't need help but know someone who does....

Just how stupid is the average American voter today?

The average voter is stupid enough to believe that taxes at the corporate level won’t be passed down to the consumer level in higher retail prices

Despite 9/11, the average voter is stupid enough to think international terrorists will leave us alone if we leave them alone to plot and plan in peace

The average voter is stupid enough to look at America’s complete ideological, racial, religious and economic divisions and think that a freshman nobody whose done nothing can somehow unite the nation under socialism.

The average voter never heard of the Democratic Socialists of America, they don’t know that they are running today’s DNC, or that they have already seated at least (1) self-proclaimed socialist in the U.S. Senate, and at least (63) documented socialists in the U.S. House of Representatives.

I could fill a book with all the ways the average American voter is ill-informed, misguided and foolish today. But there is no better example than the fact that most Americans think we are a democracy. We are a “republic” of “self-governed” individuals. Not a democracy held captive to the will of a simple majority, no matter how evil or ill-conceived that will might be.

If Lenin, Marx or Stalin had placed a gun to the head of every American voter and forced them to accept socialism (communism in its infancy), 99% of Americans would rather take the bullet. But once convinced that every election is an opportunity to shove their way to the public feeding trough, no gun is needed. They will gleefully vote for it, democratically.

How stupid is the average American voter?

Congressional Republicans just stopped Democratic Socialists from raising gas prices while gas prices are at an all time high and Democrat politicians with the help of their lame-stream leftist press are whipping average voters into frenzy as if Republicans were the ones trying to raise gas prices.

Let’s see just how stupid the average voter really is… Pick your business… oil companies aside for a moment.

Intelligence TEST: Let’s pretend you are in the business of selling fishing boats to average voters for a living. And your state government arbitrarily decides that you are making too much profit on your boats one day, walks into your office and places a $500. per boat “windfall profit tax” on each boat you sell.

Do you…

A.) Close your business as all your competitors are now cheaper
B.) Lay off only a few employees to offset your higher cost of delivery
C.) Absorb it by agreeing to make less per boat
D.) Pass the $500 surcharge on to the consumer via higher retail prices

In case you have never had to figure out how to turn a profit in business before, let me tell you, the cost of fishing boats just increased by at least $500 per unit at the consumer level. You can bet your last dollar that (c) won’t be the answer.

Now, apply the same question to corporate “windfall profit taxes” on oil companies…stupid!

It’s Only Half Your Fault

Don’t feel so bad. You are stupid by design. Socialists have worked hard for almost a hundred years to make American’s stupid enough to vote for socialism. They control the NEA and every other labor union. They founded and control the ACLU. They work through an endless list of PAC, 527 and even religious or racial organizations like the NAACP and combined, they use millions in worker union dues to advance socialism via the democratic process.

They own and run the six international corporations that own or control more than 80% of what we call “the media,” TV, Movie, Newspaper, Cable Network, book and magazine publishing houses and much more. They are extremely well organized, very well funded, extremely active politically and patient.

Even international billionaire socialists like George Soros have mastered the art of using capitalism to promote socialism, going so far as to bankrupt the currencies of democratic societies, forcing them to expend their national boundaries and adopt new continental currencies to survive.

But it is half your fault…

As Thomas Jefferson pointed out so well, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”

America is the sum of its people and their belief system. If they believe in personal freedom and individual liberty, they will demand no less and politicians will have no power over those demands.

But if they instead demand Socialism by democratic process, gifts from the treasury, paid for with the freedom and liberty of others, politicians will have no power over those demands either.

Good, bad or indifferent, America is exactly what we make of her. At all moments in history, including this one, we have the government we have chosen.

The bad news is - everything we see is our fault.

The good news is – those who had the power to wreck it, also have the power to fix it.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot… The Democratic Socialists of America support Barack Hussein Obama for president…. Now that you know, do you?

Now We Are A "Fairy Tale"?.......Updated

According to some we are just a"fairy tale"....I don't know about you but I feel like a real person. Yesterday being fathers day I took most of the day off from blogging....Didn't even read the news...Late last night I thought I will just look around a bit....went to The Page and I saw this headline....Rich: Women Boosting McCain “a Fairy Tale”.......The NY Times’ opinionmeister is skeptical the Republican’s latest recruitment efforts will work. Well I had to read it to see how and why I am now "a Fairy Tale"...We saw this kind of writing all through the primary....bashing the candidate we were for..Clinton...saying we will back Obama when the primary was over....No way we will vote for a republican....what about Roe v Wade?....they are angry and will get over it. Well the real title for the story is.... "Angry Clinton Women ♥ McCain ?".. According to Mr. Rich we who are supporting McCain are just a bunch of "Angry Clinton Women"...I am not angry....Are you?.... I know are a lot of men who were voting for Clinton who are now supporting McCain...I guess this piece is not about you...sorry guys...I guess you are still invisible....Rich starts his piece off by going back ten years so he can remind us of the joke about Clinton, Chelsea and Janet Rino.....trying to make McCain look bad before we even get through the first paragraph ...a joke from ten years ago so what, who really cares? Rich keeps trying with the woman who called Clinton a bitch at one of John's rallies....again I say so what... In the next paragraph Rich says McCain dismissed Obama in a single patronizing line and writes about how he praised Clinton and refers to this on McCain's site. Then ...here it comes...paragraph three...the Roe v Wade...linking to a piece at Huffington Post by none other than Arianna Huffington...I don't know about you all but I still don't go to the HuffyPost after all the Clinton bashing that went on there during the primary. Arianna has a new hobby now ...bashing McCain.... What would one expect from her...I mean really we knew she would have all her research ready and waiting so she could start bashing John McCain as soon as the GE got under way....Getting back to Rich....Go there and read the piece for yourself and see why we are "a Fairy Tale"....then send Rich a email telling him why you support John McCain and/or why you won't be voting for Obama. I did last night...What people are not getting apparently...is that...speaking for my self here...McCain was always my second choice...I was never going to vote for Obama...a freshman senator from Illinois?...That is why I worked so hard for Clinton....She was the only one left in the race I would vote for ....Joe Biden dropped out before he even started...not a fighter...as most of the dems did....I won't go into all my reasons why I won't vote Obama again because I would imagine they are a lot like yours. Yes McCain and I may not see eye to eye on some things but then there were things I didn't see eye to eye with Clinton on either. I trusted Clinton....

Yes I trust John.....I do not trust Barack Obama and the more I learn about him the stronger my distrust grows. Distrust: the lack or absence of trust.

A note about polls...when looking at the numbers get all the statistics you can like...How many democrats, republicans, independents or other were polled. Another thing you might want to check is how does the person describe themselves, in other words what is their race. Watch the numbers that show like 50/37 giving one candidate a +13, but does not post the other 13%....Those 13% will vote most likely. Check the margin of error... What am I trying to say?..... I am saying the press will push polls like this as Obama has a large lead, misleading the voters. ... We have seen this happen over and over this election. We all know who the MSM is in love with and we need to have the facts on hand when we can find them. Just a heads up for the people who are now just starting to get involved in this election. I know you are out there because I have seen what you write.

This is my fathers day gift to all the dads voting John McCain. It Is a pretty red map. Yes there are a couple blue spots on it, but you have to admit red is the main color. Don't forget to vote in the AOL Straw poll if you haven't already. Another reminder, over at hcsfjm.com they had up a promotion called "Make it Rain for McCain".... Asking everyone to donate on July 4th, $5.44. I see it has changed on the front page and it is at the bottom....

"On July 4, 2008, we want at least 1 million Hillary Clinton supporters to send John McCain $5.44. This is a small amount for all of us and we can send it easy. If we can get 1 million people to donate this amount, then we will have sent the Democrat Party a signal they cannot ignore."

I think it is a good idea..July 4th...Give to the campaign of a true American Hero...If you have a blog and are not going to vote for Obama sign up at Just Say No Deal and get your name on the list of blogs turning down Barack Obama. The list is growing and it is a good place to find friends to talk with about the election and other things going on.

Malik Obama confirms his half-brother Barack grew up a Muslim

Apparently the Obamas of Kenya have been reading those scurrilous emails to which Barack likes to refer, because they have no doubt -- contrary to the claims of the Obama campaign, that the presidential candidate was raised a Moslem. They take that as a given.

As the Jerusalem Post reports, "Barack Obama's half brother Malik said Thursday that if elected his brother will be a good president for the Jewish people, despite his Muslim background. In an interview with Army Radio he expressed a special salutation from the Obamas of Kenya."

The Obama brothers' father, a senior economist for the Kenyan government who studied at Harvard University, died in car crash in 1982. He left six sons and a daughter. All of his children - except Malik -- live in Britain or the United States. Malik and Barack met in 1985.

In a remarkable denial issued last November that still stands on the official campaign website, Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs issued a statement explaining that "Senator Obama has never been a Muslim, was not raised as a Muslim, and is a committed Christian."

Apparently Malik Obama, himself a Muslim, had not read the press release.

Melanie Phillips is the most recent commentator to draw attention to the massive body of evidence that leaves no doubt that Barak Hussein Obama was born a Muslim (Islam is patrilineal) and raised a Muslim (so registered in school, acknowledging attending Islamic classes, reported accompanying his step-father to the mosque, and able to recite the Koran in the original Arabic).

Reuven Koret, Aaron Klein and Daniel Pipes have previously pointed to the attempts by Obama and his campaign to conceal the candidate's Muslim background. The well documented evidence draws upon the on-the-ground interviews by researchers in Indonesia and Kenya, published quotations of Obama's childhood friends and his school records, as well as the candidate's own autobiography.

It is not clear whether Barack Obama will now disown his half-brother Malik, or throw him under the campaign bus, for acknowledging that shared family background. In any case, some one should notify "Fight the Smear" tout de suite. Perhaps they can get him with the program.

Clinton delegate to vote for McCain

As an avid supporter of Hillary Rodham Clinton in the Democratic primaries, Debra Bartoshevich is not alone in her frustration over Clinton's defeat.

She's not alone in refusing to support Barack Obama.

And she's not entirely alone in saying she'll vote this fall for Republican John McCain instead.

But what makes her unusual is that she holds these views as an elected delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Denver this summer.

"I'm sure people are going to be upset with me. I don't want to lose my national delegate status," says Bartoshevich, a 41-year-old emergency room nurse who is a convention delegate, pledged to Clinton, from Waterford in Racine County.

Joe Wineke, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, reacted with disbelief when first told Friday afternoon that one of his state party delegates is now a McCain supporter. (more)

Debate over McCain-backer spices up Dem convention

....State Party chair Joe Wineke, an Edwards backer who is now enthusiastically for Obama, asked Friday night's opening session of the state party convention to suspend party rules and begin an immediate process of stripping Bartoshevich of her national convention delegate status.

Answering Wineke's call to "send the message that the Democrats of the state of Wisconsin will never support someone who supports John McCain," delegates approved a motion to raise the question of whether Bartoshevich, having declared her support for the Republican presidential candidate, meets the requirement that national convention delegates be "bona fide Democrats."

Wineke says the state party will file a formal challenge with the Democratic National Committee early next week. more

Both Bill Hobbs and Sean Braisted note an interesting few graphs in an article about Congressman Lincoln Davis’s refusal to endorse Barack Obama, despite being a Edwards supporter earlier in the cycle:

Fred Hobbs, a state Democratic Party Executive Committee member representing part of Davis’ district, said he understands why Davis is not endorsing Obama and is “skeptical” of the Illinois senator himself.

“Maybe [it’s] the same reason I don’t want to — I don’t exactly approve of a lot of the things he stands for and I’m not sure we know enough about him,” Hobbs said when asked why he thought Davis wasn’t endorsing Obama. “He’s got some bad connections, and he may be terrorist connected for all I can tell. It sounds kind of like he may be.”

Davis was not made available for comment.

His chief of staff, Beecher Frasier, said he doesn’t know for sure if Obama is “terrorist connected” but he assumes he’s not.

The Tennessee Democratic Party releases a statement in rebuke of their state Executive committee member:

“The Tennessee Democratic Party is united behind our party’s nominee, Senator Barack Obama. Mr. [Fred] Hobbs is obviously misinformed, and his statement highlights the perpetual efforts of the Republican Party, especially here in Tennessee, to turn internet smears and highly offensive gossip into their party’s message against Senator Barack Obama as we head into the General Election. Instead of debating the issues, the Tennessee Republican Party continues to rely upon slanderous and salacious tall tales. They are borrowing from the playbook first written by Richard Nixon and employed in the race against Congressman Harold Ford Jr. Tennesseans of every political persuasion are tired of these tactics.”

NBC's Tim Russert dies of apparent heart attack

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Tim Russert, who pointedly but politely questioned hundreds of the powerful and influential as moderator of NBC's "Meet the Press," died Friday of an apparent heart attack. The network's Washington bureau chief was 58.

In addition to his weekly program, Russert made periodic appearances on the network's other news shows, was moderator for numerous political debates and wrote two best-selling boooks.

NBC interrupted its regular programming to announce Russert's death, and in the ensuing moments, familiar faces such as Tom Brokaw, Andrea Mitchell and Brian Williams took turns mourning his loss.

Williams called him "aggressively unfancy."

Russert, of Buffalo, N.Y., took the helm of the Sunday news show in December 1991 and turned it into the nation's most widely watched program of its type. His signature trait there was an unrelenting style of questioning that made some politicians reluctant to appear, yet confident that they could claim extra credibility if they survived his grilling intact.

He was also a senior vice president at NBC, and this year, Time Magazine named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world.

"We Will Kill You"

In the thousands of emails I’ve received in the year that “Corbett” has been on the air, I have not received a single death threat - until yesterday.

“We will kill you when Obama become PRESIDENT OF USA.,” the email reads. “You would see!!!”

Most death threats do not result in death.

But some do.

What makes this threat to kill me all the more mysterious is that it appears to have been sent through Barack Obama’s official campaign website – barackobama.com – the website that sends me official announcements of Obama’s campaign comings and goings.

To make matters worse, the email is signed “Michelle Michelle & Axelrod.”

I took Axelrod to be David Axelrod, Obama’s Chicago-based chief strategist.

Michelle Michelle was odd, but I had received an earlier email yesterday that I also read on the air. That one called me anti-American, added a four-letter flourish and advised me to shut up.

That one bore the name Michelle Obama, who is Barack’s wife.

Both emails came to me under the email heading of “Michelle Obama [michelle.obama@barackobama.com]. Both emails came to me under the subject line “Fight the smears against Barack Obama” and originated from barackobama.com.

I had received an earlier email from the campaign that was legitimate. Also sent from barackobama.com, it alerted me to Obama’s planned campaign stops in Philadelphia. That’s why I figured that the next email that seemingly originated from the same place was legit.

But how could I possibly get a death threat from the official Obama website?

With all the gushing news about how savvy the Obama campaign is in their high-tech internet ability, how could anybody send an email on the official website that threatens to kill somebody?

After asking this question on the air yesterday, I soon received an email of explanation – not from anybody associated with the Obama campaign, through, but from a listener who walked me through the process of sending any email from the official Obama site with any message and bearing any name – including Barack’s.

It’s so simple, the email explained, and so stupid.

It’s so dangerous, too.

I’ve received my share of threats over the years and took one seriously enough to alert Wilkes-Barre police as well as the FBI who launched an unsuccessful criminal investigation.

The idea that Obama’s website can be so easily compromised is troubling. That’s why I’m thinking about calling the cops and asking them to try to find out who threatened to kill me as soon as Obama becomes the president.

I could laugh and just say that I now have yet another reason to work against Obama winning the election.

But I’m not laughing.

The emails I’ve been receiving daily about my unwavering support for Hillary Clinton, including a particularly nasty one yesterday from an Obama volunteer in Wilkes-Barre, have become increasingly aggressive.

So have some of the calls to my show.

Now somebody has gone too far.

Obama needs to safeguard his website so this does not happen again to anybody.

If I sent the same message I got to the same email address from which it came, Secret Service agents would soon be looking for me – as they should.

I need to know who did this.

I need to know if she/he or they are serious.

I need the sender or senders to know something, as well.

I always do my best to protect myself – especially when you threaten to kill me.

CHICAGO, June 12 -- Moving to harness the grass-roots energy that helped win the Democratic nomination, Sen. Barack Obama's campaign will deploy 3,600 volunteers in 17 states this weekend, each committed to six consecutive weeks of full-time political work.

The project, launched two months before the senator from Illinois became the presumptive nominee, is a measure of his determination to out-organize Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in states that could swing a close election.

The campaign put out word in April about "Obama Organizing Fellowships," an approach that went well beyond the "y'all come" model of luring volunteers with free doughnuts for two-hour canvassing stints. Supporters were required to answer essay questions, supply references and go through a telephone interview with campaign staff members.

n return for a promise to give the campaign at least six weeks of their lives, they were promised training in community organizing techniques.

A cover letter from Obama, who spent three years in the 1980s working in impoverished Chicago neighborhoods, spoke of lessons in the "basic organizing principles that this campaign and our movement for change are built on."

Obama urged supporters to apply and to "put progressive values to work in the real world."

More than 10,000 people applied, said Obama strategist Jon Carson.

"They didn't have to have campaign experience before," said Buffy Wicks, the director of the campaign's national volunteer program. "The best organizers are people who are passionate about what they're doing. We were looking for folks who had really compelling stories."

Huckabee joining Fox News as political commentator

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Mike Huckabee, a former Republican presidential hopeful, has been hired by Fox News Channel as a political commentator.

"Gov. Huckabee's campaign experience and knowledge of politics makes him a great addition to our ongoing election coverage," Bill Shine, senior vice president of programming, said in a statement Thursday.

Huckabee, who served as governor of Arkansas for 10 1/2 years, dropped out of the race in March, after John McCain won enough delegates to clinch the Republican nomination. Despite a financially strapped campaign, Huckabee won the leadoff caucuses in Iowa and seven other states.

"I hope to bring the unique perspective from `inside the dragon's belly' as well as to try and speak for the millions of hardworking middle-class Americans who really do feel that their voices are not being heard," Huckabee said in a statement released by his daughter, Sarah. "I saw that on the campaign trail and continue to see as I speak to groups of all kinds around the country as well as campaign for other candidates."

Financial terms of the agreement weren't released.

Huckabee, an ordained Baptist preacher, has been mentioned as a potential running mate for McCain. Since leaving the race, Huckabee has formed a political action committee that he says will help raise money for McCain and other Republicans.

McCain Calls for ‘Reform, Prosperity and Peace’ at Town Hall

John McCain kicked off the first of his so-called Presidential Town Halls Thursday evening by sounding a call for “reform, prosperity and peace.”

The presumptive GOP nominee, fighting charges that he wants to drag on a war in Iraq with no end, stressed that he is seeking long-term stability in the region and accused Democratic rivalBarack Obama of wanting to surrender “defeat.”

“We are succeeding, and Senator Obama wants to set a date for withdrawal and have that arbitrarily done,” McCain said. “We would be back and there would be genocide and chaos in the region (under Obama’s plan).”

McCain also repeated a pledge to fight pork-barrel spending and vilify the authors of wasteful earmarks.

The hour-long event, at Federal Hall in New York City, kicks off a series of town hall meetings McCain says he eventually hopes will include his Democratic rival.

Obama will not be joining him this time. But McCain re-issued his town hall challenge Thursday. The event is being carried live on FOX News Channel.

“I think this town hall meeting would have been a little more interesting if Senator Obama had accepted my request,” McCain said to applause Thursday. “I think Americans are tired of the spin rooms, they’re tired of the sound bites … that’s why I hope SenatorObama will agree.”

At the forum Thursday, McCain plans to take random questions from the audience of about 200 people.

Obama, speaking at his own town hall meeting in Wisconsin Thursday, swiped at McCain for allegedly flip-flopping to support the Bush tax cuts and for his recent comments on Iraq that drew heavy criticism from Democrats. McCain took heat for saying in an interview Wednesday that troop withdrawal timetables in Iraq are “not too important.”

“Obviously he’s not thinking about the extraordinary burden that families are under on two or three or four tours of duty,” Obama said Thursday.

As for McCain’s town hall challenge, Obama has said he’s interested but wants to switch up the format on occasion and wants to do fewer than the 10 joint appearances McCain had proposed.

“We are happy to do more than the three typical presidential debates in the fall,” Obama said Tuesday. “If I’m not mistaken we’ve gone back with a counterproposal to them and are in communication with them right now.”

The town hall meeting Thursday was hosted by FOX News’ Shepard Smith, who will anchor a post-event analysis with former Bush White House Deputy Chief of Staff Karl Rove and Democratic strategists BobBeckel and Kirsten Powers.

McCain has touted the format by saying that taking questions from the public is the antidote to partisan posturing and bickering.

What I am finding out as I go around the internet is that some people still have not heard about or read about Black Liberal Theology. I haven't really looked to see if more has been written about it lately. Black Liberal Theology, if you didn't know, is and was what has been taught at Senator Barack Obama's church by Rev. J. Wright. I found this on the subject awhile back. Here is a Google search page. There are some good pieces there and some that aren't so good. Yes I know he left the church......now......but it was his home church that he went to for 20 years. Has he ever answered the question....Does he lives by this theology?....he went there for so long one would think he must. Here is a piece by Marie Jon written back in February of this year. I will do some looking and if I find anything that is worth posting I will.

Earlier this week something happen and it never really got covered by the MSM so I thought I would write a little about it. It has to do with Dan Boren. I first heard about it on the radio and the person reporting pointed out that he would not endorse Mr. Obama but would vote for him in Denver. Here is what I found at one web site.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- Democratic Rep. Dan Boren says he will not endorse Illinois Sen. Barack Obama in the presidential race.

Boren is one of 10 superdelegates from Oklahoma. He says he plans to vote Democratic in the presidential election but that he will not endorse anyone in the race.

Boren says Hillary Clinton carried his 2nd Congressional District by 66 % in the state's presidential primary. Statewide, Clinton won the Democratic primary with 55 % of the vote. But she has suspended her campaign and Obama is the presumptive nominee.

He says he will vote with the rest of Oklahoma's delegation to nominate Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

Boren says his district is much more conservative than Obama, whom he described as the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate.

Boren says he has to reflect the people of his district.

Now what I would like to know is how his voting for Obama in Denver is reflecting the voters in his district? Remember who won?...."Boren says Hillary Clinton carried his 2nd Congressional District by 66 % in the state's presidential primary" What is happening here is what happened all over the United States. The voters vote one way and the superdelegates vote another. He is up for reelection and does not want to loose. Notice how he is talking out both sides of his mouth? He won't endorse, he has to reflect the people of his district, he will vote with the rest of Oklahoma's delegation to nominate Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Denver.That DOES NOT reflect the people of his district. Please look at this map from CNN and tell me who you think won more districts in Oklahoma. Oh my, Obama won 1 county out of the whole state! Big winner isn't he? Yes he is when the superdelegates are the decider's in the race. The voters are the losers in this election no matter how you look at it. Our votes don't count!!!

UPDATE: Obama moves DNC operations to Chicago

In a major shakeup at the Democratic National Committee -- and a departure from tradition -- large parts of the committee's operations are relocating to Chicago to be fully integrated with the Obama campaign.

The DNC's political department, housed in Washington, D.C., will be dramatically rebuilt, with staffers offered a choice of moving to Chicago, joining state operations, or staying in Washington, DNC spokeswoman Karen Finney said.

But the power will clearly be shifting to a centralized Chicago hub.

The DNC's key role in coordinating political operations with state parties is expected to largely be taken over and overseen by Obama's senior staff in Chicago, state party officials said.

"This is part of the implementation of the plans Paul [Tewes] discussed last week with the state party chairs," Finney said. "As part of the efforts to fully integrate DNC operations with the Obama campaign here in Washington, in Chicago and in the states, political, field and constituency operations are moving to Chicago to work in the Obama headquarters. The goal is to consolidate these efforts into one operation and effectively drive one national strategy."

People familiar with the plan said that state party staffers paid for under Howard Dean's 50 State Program would be shifted to working for the presidential campaign, at least in targeted battleground states.

The move reflects Obama's desire to maintain an unusually streamlined campaign, as well as his swift and complete takeover of a Democratic Party that isn't always known for its unity. The move may also save the campaign money, as the Obama campaign can use DNC salaries and staff to pay for elements of its organizing campaign and avoid some of the duplication that has often dogged presidential efforts.

Obama and his campaign staunchly defended Jim Johnson against the charge that his ties to troubled mortgage lender Countrywide disqualified him from sitting on Obama's vice presidential search committee, but Johnson just pulled the plug: He resigned as chairman of the steering committee just now.

“Jim did not want to distract in any way from the very important task of gathering information about my vice presidential nominee, so he has made a decision to step aside that I accept. We have a very good selection process underway, and I am confident that it will produce a number of highly qualified candidates for me to choose from in the weeks ahead. I remain grateful to Jim for his service and his efforts in this process,” Obama said in a statement.

Johnson also put out a statement.

"I believe Barack Obama's candidacy for president of the United States is the most exciting and important of my lifetime," he said, according to a Bloomberg report. "I would not dream of being a party to distracting attention from that historic effort."

Johnson also decried the "blatantly false statements and misrepresentations" that he said were at the center of the controversy.

Both McCain and Obama have set for themselves high standards of purity while running what are, after all, political campaigns; these feeding frenzies are consequences, in part, of how easy it is to write about internal contradictions and hypocrisy.

The other story out there along these lines, that Obama, who -- unlike McCain -- won't raise money from lobbyists, has to do with the Democratic National Convention: how it will raise its money, and if a lobbyist can continue to lead its fundraising.

My vote is mine and yours is yours and you should vote for the person that you believe has enough experience in government, a person who has been around long enough to know how things work in Washington. I do not believe Barack Obama is that person. I have listened to him and I don't like what I hear. Speeches don't go very far for me when a person is running for president. I like someone with some history in government. To put it simply he does not pass the commander in chief test for me. No one should ask you to vote for someone. You should look at the person and their record and decide for yourself. I did that with Clinton, Obama, Joe Biden and John Edwards before I made up my mind to vote for Clinton in the primary and now I have done that with McCain. McCain will get my vote.

Today I am going to cover abortion because it is a subject that is important to me. Obama's record on abortion is very extreme...he opposed the ban on partial birth abortion and then criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. When he was in the Illinois state senate he opposed a bill that was very much like the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act that prevents the killing of infants that have been left alive by abortion. When Obama said he didn't want his daughters "punished with a baby" lets just say....that made me sick. Babies are not punishment. Does your mother love you or are you a punishment sent to her from God. Do you love your children or are they just a punishment you have to live with? I don't completely oppose abortion, in cases of rape or incest or if the mothers life is at risk then I think it is up to the mother. I could even say if there is something wrong with the baby and the mother does not feel she would be able to care for the child over time that I would understand.To kill a baby who has been left alive after an abortion is murder and Obama approves of this. You really should do some research on this before it all gets scrubbed off the internet.

Obama is no moderate: His radical position on 'abortion' after birth

Recently, Hillary Clinton presciently warned that she would be the best Democrat presidential candidate because she's already been "vetted." Now, that's not necessarily a good thing for Mrs. Clinton considering her (and her husband's) checkered past. But she does have a point when it comes to Barack Obama, the new, fresh, moderate-sounding, wildly popular-and largely uninvestigated-frontrunner candidate. And, as it turns out, pro-abortion radical.

We all know Obama's style, his regal, visionary bearing, his above-the-fray persona, his inspired - and, give him his due, inspiring - performances, his "Audacity of Hope," and his hypnotic, upbeat, unifying message. He is skilled. If we were voting for a chief motivational speaker or a political "American Idol," even I'd be on the bandwagon.

But for a candidate for Chief Executive, Commander-in-Chief of the US military, and leader of the free world, we need more. We need some record or some history. His soaring rhetoric aside, it's long-past the time to ask: just who is this guy? What's at his core? Where is his moral compass? Do we share the same basic values? Is he as moderate in deed as in word? Apparently not, at least judging by his record on a key sanctity-of-life issue. It is beyond extreme; it is jarring.

Reasonable people may differ in their opinions regarding abortion and thorny questions of precisely when life begins. Jewish doctrine, with its focus on the health of the mother, may differ from Christian or other religious positions over the circumstances under which abortion may be permitted. But once a baby is born, even prematurely, there is across-the-board agreement that a new human life exists. Certainly, there is no longer any threat to the health of the mother. Abortion is no longer an option, as there is no longer a pregnancy to terminate.

So, what are we to make of Obama's votes against protecting the right to life for living babies who have survived attempted abortions? Such babies are sometimes born alive as a result of late-term induced labor abortions, often sought when babies are believed (sometimes in error) to have genetic defects such as Down syndrome.

Earlier this decade, such living, breathing, babies who survived labor were "shelved" - left to die and disposed of with other medical waste, or were "aborted" - killed outside the womb. The practice was ultimately banned by unanimous Congressional votes, as even the most pro-abortion Senate Democrats - including every defender of partial-birth abortion - recognized that killing these breathing babies is no longer abortion in any real sense. It crosses the line; it is infanticide. Yet, incredibly, Obama repeatedly worked to deny these living babies any right to life.

Jill Stanek, an Illinois nurse, testified in the US Congress in 2000 and 2001 - and before Obama's Illinois Senate Judiciary Committee - about how induced labor abortions were handled at her hospital, relating this story: "One night, a nursing co-worker was taking an aborted Down syndrome baby who was born alive to our Soiled Utility Room because his parents did not want to hold him, and she did not have the time to hold him. I couldn't bear the thought of this suffering child lying alone in a Soiled Utility Room, so I cradled and rocked him for the 45 minutes that he lived." Powerful stuff. Obama, however, was reportedly "unfazed" by her testimony.

Various state and federal attempts ensued to curb the gruesome practice, including the federal Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, passed unanimously by both the House and Senate in 2002 (It did not immediately become law.)

In essence, these acts state that, whether wanted or not, once a baby is fully born, it is recognized as fully human and is entitled to equal protection of the law under the 14th Amendment. Even pro-abortion Democrats supported the BAIPA because it contained explicit language that it would not infringe on any abortion rights. Democrat Barbara Boxer, arguably the Senate's most zealous pro-choice advocate, agreed that, with this language, the "amendment certainly does not attack Roe v. Wade."

But not Obama. In March of 2001, Obama's Illinois Judiciary Committee considered a law substantially identical to the BAIPA. It passed the Committee, with Obama voting against. In front of the full Illinois Senate, Obama was the only senator to speak against the bill, arguing that life protection extended to any (!) preterm babies (ponder that) could jeopardize abortion rights. He voted "present," tantamount to a "no" vote. In March of 2002, Obama's Committee passed the Induced Birth Liability Act, requiring medical care for babies who survive induced labor abortions - Obama again voting "present," arguing that the Act would "create one more burden on women, and I can't support that."

In 2003, the Democrats took control of the Illinois Senate, and Obama became Chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee. A Committee member sponsored an Amendment that would adopt the exact same language in Illinois's proposed BAIPA that Senator Boxer was satisfied did not curtail any abortion rights in the federal BAIPA. But as Chairman, Obama unilaterally killed the bill by never allowing a Committee vote, thereby preventing it from being voted on by the full Senate and becoming law.

Obama's position essentially boils down to this: a woman who contracts for an abortion is entitled, one way or another, to a dead baby. A dead baby must result, even if that baby had already been a distinct living being. The killing of some live babies is just part of the price we must pay in order to keep the sacred right to an abortion supreme and absolute, beyond any shadow of a doubt.

What kind of principle is this? What core value is Obama expressing? What extremist doctrine or interest is he defending? And how doctrinaire must one be to defend actual infanticide? This goes well beyond any reasonable advocacy of a woman's "right to choose;" it attacks a living baby's right to life. His position is not simply "pro-choice;" it is radically anti-life. It is, in fact, pro-death. Whatever one may make of the doctrines of his America-bashing, anti-Israel, Farrakhan-honoring pastor (or why a "uniter" would belong to his church for over 20 years), Obama professes to be a practicing Christian; so, what in the life-affirming Judeo-Christian value system could possibly give license to kill live babies?

In the coming years, the United States Supreme Court is likely to decide landmark cases dealing with life-sanctity issues of eugenics, euthanasia, and abortion. Is mainstream, centrist America ready to put Court appointments in the hands of a far-left candidate with such a radical, ghoulish record?

Perhaps most disappointing is that Obama's handling of the issue suggests he is actually just another slippery politician - more "spin" than substance. For all the supposed integrity he projects, Obama has not even shown the courage to honestly defend his votes.

In 2004, during a campaign debate, Republican US Senate candidate Alan Keyes challenged Obama on his opposition to the 2003 Illinois BAIPA. Obama replied: "At the federal level there was a similar bill that passed because it had an amendment saying this does not encroach on Roe v. Wade. I would have voted for that bill." What a marvelously Clintonian answer! As noted above, that language did not make it into the Illinois bill because Obama himself blocked It. Now that is first-rate Audacity. But it doesn't inspire much Hope.

Critics say that Presidential candidate Barack Obama tries to “be all things to all people” and that he makes too many “pie-in-the-sky” promises. At a recent political rally, Obama tried to overcome these criticisms by emphasizing his commitment to principles. Afterwards, audience members lined up at a microphone to ask Obama questions.

The first person at the microphone said, “I oppose the war in Iraq. If you are elected, what will you do about that?”

“I will end the war in Iraq within two weeks of taking office,” answered Obama. “All our troops will come home, and I will simultaneously make sure the Iraqi government is functioning and secure.”

The second person in line said, “I’m an illegal alien. What will you do for people like me?”

“If I am elected,” answered Obama, “every illegal alien will receive U.S. citizenship, free health coverage, and a scholarship to the university of your choice.”

The third person in line said, “I’m a conservative. If elected, what will you do for me?”

“I’ll send that first guy to Iraq, and the second guy back to Mexico.”

What Hillary Really Wants

Many people, including Hillary Clinton supporters, have been asking themselves recently: What does Hillary Clinton really want? After any level of examination, the answer should be quite clear; she wants all of her supporters to vote for John McCain. This conclusion may seem at odds with her endorsement of Barack Obama, but only if you have not paid close attention to the entire primary election.

As many of you remember, Hillary Clinton gave it all for her candidacy. She spent months making the case that Barack Hussein Obama was unelectable, inexperienced, immature about foreign policy, even dangerous in comparison to John S. McCain. She also made the case that SHE was highly qualified, had the strong record on social issues and had the necessary judgment to be Commander in Chief. Many times she even made it a point to mention that McCain had already crossed the Commander in Chief threshold, while Obama had obviously failed to do the same. It would be fair to conclude that this was not dishonest rhetoric on her part, since even a casual study of Obama’s record confirms her multiple contentions. In addition, she also bluntly told most superdelegates in private that “Obama CAN’T win!”. In other words, she basically laid ALL of her credibility and experience on the line to make the case that the only two capable candidates in the race to the White House were John McCain and Hillary Clinton. Even Bill Clinton participated in this spread of this theme and made public statements in which he clearly pointed out that “it would be great to see a race between two people who really love their Country”, something that made all within the Obama campaign cringe, for the obvious implications of said statement; Obama is NOT patriotic enough to run for our highest office (the nefarious legacy of Rev. Wright, Mr. Khalidi and Mr. Ayers).more

I have found a wonderful new forum. I found it by way of Democrats For McCain. It is the PUMA Party Unity? forum. I think this will be a great place for people to meet up get information about different things going on. It looks to be relatively new so give it time for information to be posted and if you have something that you think needs to be shared look through and see if the topic is being covered and post it. For the future if you are looking for a link to get there it will be on the left of this blog and you just click on this picture...... For example, do you know when the dead line to change to Independent is in your state, if you do post it, if you don't then call your local election board and find out then get it posted. I posted for my state in this thread in the forum. That is under Hillary Independent Movement . While you are surfing around today Check out this place.. I'm Uppity it is a cool place and she has some information up that people need to read...They have covered it at The Confluence and Uppity is one of the people who identity has been stolen.

Subject: Not Hillary’s fault

We get it. The DNC wants Obama, the absolutely most unqualified candidate ever, to be the Democratic nominee. We understand; he’s raising money and he’s getting young people involved. As a 30 year Democrat, it will be interesting to see if your idea of putting up a Marxist, far-left Democrat with less than 2 years in the Senate, and 20 years in a racist, anti-Semitic and anti-American church will be successful.

We know you have pressured Sen. Clinton to suspend her campaign and endorse Obama for the sake of bringing the party together. Too bad not one of you were gracious enough to recognize that she has won more votes than any other candidate in American history, and she’s the first women candidate to virtually tie for the nomination. I know, I know, you couldn’t say those things because it would ruin Obama’s false moment of claiming he won the nomination.

And, we know that Sen. Clinton as a loyal Democrat will ask us to vote for Obama, she’ll even campaign hard for him. We support her candidacy 100%, but what you don’t realize, is that we won’t vote for Obama even though she asks us to. (And just so you know — this isn’t her fault — it is entirely Obama’s fault.)

We recognize that campaigns are hard fought and politics isn’t bean bag. But, Sen. Obama’s campaign is the first I have ever seen or experienced where not only was the character of his opponent impugned but so was the character of all her supporters. We, the 18 million people who voted for Sen. Clinton have been called racists, b*tches, Archie Bunker Democrats, ignorant and so much more. We have been vilified, harassed and threatened. Going to a caucus was dangerous, and the intimidation tactics were intense. You, members of the Democratic Party do not understand that our anger is not about our candidate not winning, it is about being abused by fellow Democrats and no one, not Obama or you or DNC leadership standing up to put a stop to it. Some of you were even subjected to the same threats and coercion and did nothing except endorse Obama to get it to stop.

Well, we have more backbone than you, but less power. While we no longer have the power of our primary vote as you have cut us in half, allowed us to be bullied at caucuses, and simply ignored our will, we still have the power of our general election vote. It’s the one thing you can’t get from us no matter your strategy. If you nominate Sen. Clinton we will vote for her in a heartbeat, because we do not like McCain at all. We are loyal Dems — or used to be. But, nominate Obama and we will donate, canvass and vote for McCain. We will not vote for Obama under any circumstance because it would be reckless to vote for a candidate who threatens me for my vote instead of appeals to me for it. I cannot disrespect myself by voting for a man who has shown me no decency. Sen. Obama has run his campaign like a wife batterer, and now is the time when you come crawling back saying your sorry, asking for forgiveness. Go to any shelter — they’ll tell you that leaving is our only option.

I’m embarrassed to be a Democrat, and embarrassed that you are pursuing a path of nominating a candidate who is a worse candidate than GW Bush. I didn’t think that was even possible. This new brand of Soros, Move-on Democrat is so far left that it approaches the wacky right. I’m a Martin Luther King Democrat and I believe he would be appalled by the Obama candidacy. Remember it was MLK who said — “It is not the color of one’s skin but the content of one’s character that matters most.”

There is still time to nominate Sen. Clinton. I hope you realize that Sen. Obama is unelectable before August 25th.

Obama denies a rumor and questions the question

Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday batted down rumors circulating on the Internet and mentioned on some cable news shows of the existence of a video of his wife using a derogatory term for white people, and criticized a reporter for asking him about the rumor, which has not a shred of evidence to support it.

“We have seen this before. There is dirt and lies that are circulated in e-mails and they pump them out long enough until finally you, a mainstream reporter, asks me about it,” Obama said to the McClatchy reporter during a press conference aboard his campaign plane. “That gives legs to the story. If somebody has evidence that myself or Michelle or anybody has said something inappropriate, let them do it.”

Asked whether he knew it not to be true, Obama said he had answered the question.

“Frankly, my hope is people don’t play this game,” Obama said. “It is a destructive aspect of our politics. Simply because something appears in an e-mail, that should lend it no more credence than if you heard it on the corner. Presumably the job of the press is to not to go around and spread scurrilous rumors like this until there is actually anything, an iota, of substance or evidence that would substantiate it.”

NOTE: Obama's clearly right that this is how stories for which there's no evidence at all make it into the public eye. So I'm not linking or detailing the rumor, since there's just zero credible evidence for it. This is probably a silly old media vestige, of course; Google has no such standards. And Obama's discussion of it is, more broadly, news: As he acknowledged yesterday, beating back whisper campaigns is perhaps the central challenge his campaign faces.

Everything's Gonna Be All White

On Monday I blogged about the rumors of a video that shows Michelle Obama making hateful comments about "whitey." I'm now convinced that Larry Johnson, the blogger who's done the most to make the rumors public, is spreading misinformation. At the least, he's been unable to stick to his story.

Johnson starts getting attention for this on May 26, recounting intel from "someone in touch with a senior Republican."

I know for a fact that Barack and Michelle Obama would like the tape of her blasting “whitey” during a rant at Jeremiah Wright’s church to never see the light of day.

On the night of May 31, Johnson fires up the speculation by promising an update by 9 a.m. on June 2. "Now I know why people who have seen the videotape say it is stunning." The blogs start churning, and reporters fish around. On June 1, Roger Stone appears on Fox News and says he's heard rumors about a Michelle Obama tape. Gleefully, a NoQuarter blogger completes the Mobius strip and claims Stone has given Johnson "new credence."

A little before 8 a.m. on June 2, Johnson reveals what he learned from "five separate sources who have spoken directly with people who have seen the tape."

It features Michelle Obama and Louis Farrakhan. They are sitting on a panel at Jeremiah Wright’s Church when Michelle makes her intemperate remarks. Whoops!!

The bloggy frenzy increases, with a few possible "transcripts" of the speech making the rounds. Booman posts a theoretical transcript ("from what I understand") in which Obama says "why'd he" and it sounds like she's saying "whitey." Blogger MyTownTalks posts part of "an e-mail with part of the alleged speech," in which Obama says both "whitey" and "why'd he," and rants about "the white man" who "let Katrina happen."

Later in the day, Johnson gleefully updates:Major Obama donors went to the campaign demanding explanations after the posting of my story on No Quarter about the contents of the videotape confirmed to me by several reliable sources, all Republicans with access to knowledge but who do not know each other. So the campaign created a would-be transcript of the video it says doesn’t exist. In the Obama campaign produced transcript Michelle says “why’d he” instead of “whitey.” Very clever. Then the campaign sent this transcript to key Obamaton bloggers to circulate. And the campaign sent it to the donors to prevent them from having a nervous breakdown.

On the morning of June 3, B-list Democratic pundit Bob Beckel goes on Fox News and speculates that "there might be a big shoe dropping on Michelle Obama tomorrow." Later that night, after all the polls are closed, SusanUnPC posts a photo of Michelle Obama at a June 28, 2004 luncheon from the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition convention in Chicago, posing alongside Louis Farrakhan's wife. It kicks off another wave of speculation. On June 4, a blogger at "HillBuzz" posts a new explanation of what's on the tape and claims it was actually recorded at this luncheon.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on "whitey", and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that's when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who's seen this.

Louis Farrakhan isn't there, nor is Hurricane Katrina (which happened a year after this luncheon, of course) mentioned. Nonetheless, Johnson links the post as "BREAKING NEWS from Hillbuzz."

I am not trying to steal thunder from HillBuzz. That blogger is breaking important news.

National Review's Jim Geraghty finds the schedule of the Rainbow/PUSH event. First, the event was held at a Sheraton 14 miles away from Trinity United, yet Hillbuzz claims that Trinity United was selling a tape of this on the church web site. Second, Bill Clinton spoke at the conclusion of the conference, days after this event, yet Hillbuzz theorized that Obama was raging against Clinton. Third, Obama wasn't a featured speaker at the event: Rev. Jesse Jackson was. Michelle Obama was, with freed POW Shoshanna Johnson, a "special guest." There was no panel. It seems strange that the state senator's wife would give a 30-minute speech during a 2-hour luncheon at which she wasn't even the speaker. Later in the day, Johnson whines about the pro-Obama bloggers causing a "diversion."

I learned last week that Republicans have a tape of Michelle in a racist rant. She does so while part of a panel discussion. I do not know where this occurred.

That's my emphasis because two days earlier Johnson reported that Obama was sitting with Louis Farrakhan at Trinity United, and a week before that Johnson was already reporting that Obama's rant was at Trinity United. Johnson starts walking back the story by sputtering that "with or without said tape, we do know that the Obamas participated for almost 20 years in a church that espoused racism." But "without said tape," there's no story. Let's rewind it back. Johnson, on June 2:

Johnson, two days later.I do not know where this occurred.

In his peddling of this story, Johnson has altered his description of what was in the tape. I e-mailed Johnson, asked about the holes in the HillBuzz story, and called him a liar. He e-mailed me back.

You and Reason in the same sentence? Now that's funny. I don't recall soliciting an email from you so fuck off.

Until he comes out with a video tape that shows at least one of the many rumored "Michelle speeches," I think that's the last we need to hear from Larry Johnson.

SO let me say this.......

I think I am being used by someone to try to keep this going and I won't do it. Would Obama tell the truth about this...Hell No...he would not.....he has always had 10 different answers for questions and never tells the truth until he has to.....That is the problem with Obama.....he is worse than Bush when it comes to giving an honest answer. Obama always finds a way to not answer a question so we don't know if the tape or tapes are real. We will know they are real when we see them and not before.....

With the final primary concluded barely hours before, top Democratic Party leaders in Washington early this morning ratcheted up the pressure to force all remaining uncommitted superdelegates to make their choice of candidate known by Friday -- and thus end the now hopeless, one-time frontrunning campaign of New York Sen. Hillary Clinton.

The joint statement was obviously pre-planned and timed for issue shortly after Clinton refused to concede the presidential nomination's victory to Barack Obama, who's gained sufficient delegates to clinch the party's nomination.

Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin, chairman of the Democratic Governors Assn., issued the brief statement for unity just minutes ago:

"The voters have spoken," they said, adding later, "Democrats must now turn our full attention to the general election. To that end, we are urging all remaining uncommitted super delegates to make their decisions known by Friday of this week, so that our party can stand united."

I say it is time to join McCain and give to his campaign. You don't have to give a lot. When the rain came outside a Washington D.C. hotel Saturday afternoon, they did not run and hide their heads.

Unlike the refrain in the Beatles’ song, they did not rather they were dead.

When the rain came, they stood their ground and, looking very much alive and well, shouted “Count every vote” and “This is what a feminist looks like.”

The protestors, mostly women, knew that when it rains it shines – but only if you refuse to let a stretch of bad weather drive you deep into the shelter of a party that would rather exclude you anyway.

This party is the Democratic Party and Saturday’s meeting of its pompous rules and bylaws committee did more to dampen support for the mainstream party than any Republican ever could.

The party elite told the protestors, by and large Democrats, that they would decide what is best for them.

The protestors explained that they were not slaves and would decide their lives for themselves. By that they meant that they would also decide the party’s future. By that they meant they just might quit.

“I didn’t quit my party,” one young woman later explained. “My party quit me.”

Without them, many analysts believe the Democrats cannot win the White House in November. Without them, Democrats will rally around a flawed candidate who will further divide the party into the haves and the have-nots. Without them, the party will go down in females, rather than in flames.

Men have aligned themselves with the protest as well.

I, too, stood in the rain.

Joining in the common cause, I, too, threw my voice at the universe.

“This is what a feminist looks like,” I howled.

Nobody questioned my support for equality. No one doubted my resolve to stand in support of Hillary Clinton, the strongest candidate among all those who campaigned – including Barack Obama, John Edwards, Bill Richardson, Joe Biden and the rest - to win the nomination to represent Democrats against the Republican war machine.

Now only two remain - Hillary the white woman and Barack the black man.

The protestors believe now more than ever that the deck has been stacked all along in Barack’s favor. A combination of white liberal guilt, money, power, deceit and sleazy Chicago politics helped Barack buy his way into the process.

The party bosses must know that their man will likely lose.

So why support him to the end?

That remains the most troubling unanswered question.

What is known, though, is that many Hillary supporters, mostly women who have been loyal to the party all their lives, feel abandoned. Abused by a disloyal party whose leadership is made up mostly of men, they have finally had enough.

The separation is about to commence.

And the divorce will be messy.

But when the split is complete, their freedom of choice, the liberation of walking out, will renew their strength in themselves.

Even if Barack becomes the nominee – and I’m not convinced that will happen – these protestors will know forever that they have power they never before experienced. The power to say no constitutes freedom in the face of a society that expects you to say yes.

No means no – even in the political arena.

Time has almost run out for party bosses. But they still can change - even the women among them who continue to do the bidding of men who promise them everything but never deliver.

Men and women superdelegates can still admit that Hillary is the best person for the job as she fights on until the national party convention in August in Denver.

Once there, the bosses can award her the nomination. If they do, the Democrats are closer to equality than ever. If they don’t, the great gender divide gets wider.

Standing in the rain outside the hotel on Saturday, a critic couldn’t help but sense the power of believing in a principle.

Truth is as principled as it gets.

And the truth sometimes hurts.

After the hijacking of 4 delegates, well let me just say this...I am glad I got out of the democratic party on Friday. What they did, taking votes that did not belong to Obama, what the heck were they thinking? If I vote for Candidate #1 and my vote is given to Candidate #2 then I consider it stolen...they did this in broad daylight...with Americans watching...This should end the Democratic party....breaking the rules to benefit one candidate is un-American ..What are we fighting for in Iraq? Did Howard Dean call Gerry F. a racist while he was speaking on "This Week" with George...I had it on the television but was not listening close....I saw it commented about so I am waiting for the video to be put up at ABC.... Here is the comment I am referring to...

I can't believe what I'm hearing.

Dean is on there with James Roosevelt from the rules committee patting themselves on the back about how united the Dems are now - what a great day yesterday was for the party. My God - the arrogance.

Then Stephoplous brought up an editorial by Geraldine Ferraro and Dean just stuck it good to her - basically said he wasn't going to respond to a racist. Unbelievable!!!

People better really stand up to this apparent coup that is taking place to our party. These people are out of control. Kind of reminds me of the Neocon coup in the Republican Party. Very, very scary, especially the doctrainaire righteousness that is driving it.

Obama's people know how to work the system and take a stand.

I hope Clinton supporter's and the core of the Democratic Party will no longer choose to be complacent in this.

New Group Pressures D.N.C. in Ads

A group headed by donors to Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton hastily formed a new political action committee this week and began running a television advertisement in the Washington, D.C. area on Friday imploring the Democratic National Committee to seat the entire delegations from both Florida and Michigan.

The group, Count The Votes Cast, filed a statement of organization with the Federal Elections Commission on Thursday and bought air time on a local network and CNN for their 30-second spot.

The first thing I read today is worth passing on. While it may not be from RCP or the NYT I think it is important. It is titled Popular vote campaign gains popularity and comes to us from Boston Herald.com....In it Wayne Woodlief quotes Rep. Marty Walsh almost at the end....

“We’re preaching democracy all over the world, but our voting doesn’t always reflect that . . . We have a chance to make sure the vote of every man and woman counts.

While they are talking about the GE in this piece I believe this should apply to the primary vote...Take a look at this piece if you have time, Wayne starts out by saying.....

"What? Barack Obama just creamed John McCain in the nationwide popular vote, but McCain prevails because he won in the Electoral College?

What? California went for a Republican for the first time since 1988, giving McCain a decisive 55 electoral votes?

Neither scenario is implausible. The referendum in California to reverse a state Supreme Court ruling in favor of gay marriage seems certain to bring out hundreds of thousands of conservative voters. O LOSING IN STATES HE'S WON

May 29, 2008 -- A new polling analysis spells potential trouble in the fall for Democratic front-runner Barack Obama: He struggles against Republican candidate John McCain even in states where he defeated Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In the 28 states won by Obama, he has an average 45 percent of voters compared to McCain's 46 percent, according to the Gallup survey.

These states include Obama's home turf of Illinois, along with Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and the battleground states of Colorado, Oregon, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Missouri.

In a McCain-Clinton matchup in those same states, McCain has 47 percent to Clinton's 45 percent.

By comparison, Clinton clobbers McCain, 50 percent to 43 percent, in the 20 states where the New York senator carried primaries and caucuses against Obama.

Clinton strongholds included solidly Democratic New York and California, as well as battleground states Pennsylvania, Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico and West Virginia.

McCain averages 46 percent to Obama's 43 percent in the Clinton states.

The Gallup analysis bolsters Clinton's contention she'd have a better chance than Obama in defeating McCain.

"Clinton appears to have the stronger chance of capitalizing on her primary strengths in the general election," said Gallup pollster Lydia Saad.

"At this stage in the race, there is some support for her argument that . . . she would be stronger than Obama in the general election."

Obama also has strength in some "purple" states that often determine presidential elections.

Obama leads McCain, 49 to 41, in a handful of swing states he carried against Clinton - Colorado, Oregon, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Missouri. McCain leads Clinton by one point in these states.

But Clinton leads McCain, 49 to 43, in swing states she carried against Obama: Nevada, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Arkansas and disputed Florida and Michigan.

Even when excluding Michigan and Florida, Clinton leads McCain, 51 to 41, in her favored battlegrounds.

"Clinton's main advantage is that her states - including Florida and Michigan - represent nearly twice as many Electoral College votes in November," the Gallup analysis said.

The analysis came as the high-flying Obama played constructive critic to a class of eighth-graders in Colorado.

Speaking to kids after they made classroom presentations on what they'd learned over the last year at the Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts in Thornton, Obama both praised and critiqued them.

Theodore Rodriguez, 13, got high marks for his warm personality but was advised to look at his audience more and finish his thought before moving on.

"You got a little nervous. It's understandable. It's not every day you have to speak in front of the national press," said Obama, who was accompanied at the school by a large number of reporters and camera crews.

"This is really hard to do, by the way," Obama added. "Not only could I not have done it in eighth grade, I probably couldn't have done it just before I ran for president."

Fundraiser faces arrest in multiple gaming debts
Donor’s ties to Obama were scrutinize

A Las Vegas judge has issued a felony arrest warrant for a politically connected Chicago businessman whose ties to Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama have become an issue in the campaign.

Antoin “Tony” Rezko, who is standing trial on federal corruption charges in Chicago, is wanted in Las Vegas for failing to pay $472,275 in gambling debts to Caesars Palace and Bally’s and related processing fees to the Clark County district attorney’s office.

The total unpaid Strip bill comes to more than $800,000, however, because the Bellagio obtained a judgment of default against Rezko a year ago for not repaying $331,000 in gambling markers.

A federal jury has been deliberating Rezko’s fate the past two weeks following two months of testimony in a corruption trial linked to the administration of Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Rezko, a 52-year-old real estate developer and fast-food entrepreneur, was once considered part of Blagojevich’s inner circle, as well as a prominent donor and fundraiser for Obama.

Obama acknowledged early in the campaign that it had been a mistake to enter into a 2005 land deal with Rezko at a time when the businessman was under federal scrutiny.

While at a Chicago law firm, Obama also had done legal work involving housing developments owned by Rezko. In the Las Vegas case, records show, Justice of the Peace Nancy Oesterle issued the warrant for Rezko’s arrest May 20 at the request of Chief Deputy District Attorney Bernie Zadrowski, who runs the bad check unit. Unpaid casino markers are treated as bad checks in Nevada.

Zadrowski and District Attorney David Roger declined to comment, but courthouse sources said Las Vegas authorities, aware of Rezko’s trial in Chicago, notified federal authorities there about the outstanding warrant Tuesday. If Rezko is convicted in Chicago, he’ll likely remain under the supervision of federal authorities and the Nevada charges will take a back seat, the sources said.

Pelosi vows to prevent fight at Dem convention

(05-28) 20:17 PDT San Francisco -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she will step in if necessary to make sure the presidential nomination fight between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama does not reach the Democratic National Convention - though she believes it could be resolved as early as next week.

Pelosi predicted Wednesday that a presidential nominee will emerge in the week after the final Democratic primaries on June 3, but she said "I will step in" if there is no resolution by late June regarding the seating of delegates from Florida and Michigan, the two states that defied party rules by holding early primaries.

"Because we cannot take this fight to the convention," she said. "It must be over before then."

I didn't but you have to ask for all to start...All the votes should be counted in Florida....Michigan is a different story...Obama stopped the re-vote there so I guess he didn't want any votes from the state....Give Hillary her votes and divide the others between the others who took there name off the ballot.....fair is fair...place the delegates according to the votes after the split...seems pretty simple to me....

Clinton gets deep-pockets boost from loyalists

With just three Democratic primaries left and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's chances at her party's nomination increasingly a longshot, determined and deep-pocketed supporters based in San Francisco have launched an effort to keep the New York senator's campaign alive - making a case for counting primary votes in Michigan and Florida.

Susie Tompkins Buell, a longtime friend of Clinton's and - along with her husband, Mark Buell - one of the country's most generous Democratic donors, is one of the forces behind the WomenCount political action committee.

Since its formation earlier this month, the group has spent at least $140,000 to publish full-page ads in newspapers around the country in support of Clinton, according to the organization's papers on file with the Federal Elections Commission.

The committee's ads, headlined "Not So Fast," urge that the votes of women - who make up 51 percent of the American electorate - be fully counted in the 2008 presidential election.
